In June 2025, HXH STEEL successfully managed the vessel loading and maritime stowage for a combined shipment of Electro-Galvanized Coils (EG) and Stainless Steel Coils headed to Pakistan.
Shipping EG and stainless steel together via a bulk vessel requires far stricter handling than ordinary carbon steel. Both materials have sensitive, high-end surfaces where even minor exposure to sea salt or shifting can cause pitting corrosion or deep scratching.
As shown in our cargo hold photos, this batch was strictly assigned to underdeck stowage (inside the dry main cabin). We completely avoided on-deck placement to ensure the coils were 100% shielded from sea spray and ocean condensation during the voyage. This is especially critical for Electro-Galvanized (EG) steel, as its smooth, thin zinc layer can react quickly to salt air if not kept completely dry.
Inside the bulk cabin, securing 15-plus ton coils against the rolling of the vessel is a massive safety task. Our logistics crew supervised the entire bracing process:
Base Chocking: Thicker timber dunnage was laid out on the cabin floor to cradle each coil and distribute the heavy weight evenly.
Steel Wire Locking: High-strength steel wire ropes and turnbuckles were cross-lashed through the eye of each coil, anchoring the entire row firmly against the ship's bulkheads to prevent any side-to-side sliding.
This June 2025 supply was custom-sourced for high-precision manufacturing segments in Pakistan:
Electro-Galvanized (EG) Coils: Sourced primarily for home appliance casings, electrical enclosures, and automotive stamping, where excellent paint adhesion and absolute surface flatness are mandatory.
Stainless Steel Coils: Allocated for regional factories producing food processing machinery, medical hardware, and high-strength industrial fasteners.
