CRC is produced by cold reducing pickled HRC on a tandem cold mill at room temperature. Reduction rates of 50–90% are achieved, significantly increasing strength through work hardening. The cold-hardened coil is then annealed in a continuous annealing line (CAL) or batch annealing (BA) furnace. In CAL, the coil is heated to 650–750°C in a H₂-N₂ atmosphere to recrystallize the microstructure, then cooled under controlled conditions. Finally, the coil undergoes temper rolling (skin passing) with a light reduction (0.5–3%) to improve surface finish, flatness, and to eliminate yield point elongation. Surface roughness (Ra) can be controlled between 0.2–1.5 µm..

Smooth, clean surface ideal for painting or plating.
Better dimensional accuracy and tensile strength.
Ultra-High Dimensional Precision and Uniformity: Rolled at or near room temperature, CRC achieves extremely tight thickness tolerances and superior flatness, ensuring precise dimensions required for high-precision components and automotive parts.
Premium Surface Finish and Aesthetics: The surface is free of scale, smooth, and bright, making it ideal for subsequent treatments like plating, painting, and powder coating, often preferred for visible surfaces like home appliance casings.
Significantly Enhanced Mechanical Strength: Work hardening during the cold deformation process substantially increases the steel's yield strength and hardness (up to 20% stronger than equivalent HRC), improving product durability and resistance to impact.
Excellent Stamping and Deep Drawing Performance: Exhibits low yield strength properties highly suitable for high-speed stamping and deep drawing processes, making it the material of choice for producing complex shapes in home appliances and automotive load-bearing elements.
Automotive Industry: Stamped parts like automotive body panels, doors, fuel tanks.
Home Appliance Manufacturing: Casings and internal structural parts for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, microwaves.
Metal Products: Office furniture, filing cabinets, lighting, kitchenware.
Coating Substrate: Primary raw material for hot-dip galvanized, electro-galvanized, and pre-painted steel coils.
Key production steps include: Hot rolled coil -> Pickling (scale removal) -> Cold Rolling (thinning to target thickness at room temperature) -> Annealing (restoring material plasticity and toughness) -> Skin Passing (temper rolling for desired surface finish and properties) -> Coiling.
